Greetings again from Madison.  Tomorrow begins our full-blown entrance into the wedding season and we are really looking forward to all that lies ahead.  Between now and the end of May, we have weddings booked in Madison, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Martha’s Vineyard, and Seattle.  If you want to see lots of behind the scenes business, be sure to follow along on twitter and facebook.  We also love meeting new people and making new friends, so if you want to meet up for coffee or a burrito, don’t be shy.

On Wednesday, we had the opportunity to do the yearly fashion shoot for the Wedding Planner & Guide for the fourth year in a row.  It was a beautiful setting out in the country and we’re really excited with how the photos turned out.  Here are a couple of behind the scenes shots courtesy of Eric (Ricky) Albaugh.

Greetings from Madison, Wisconsin – land of cheese curds and spotted cow.

We’re soaking up time here at my childhood home, before we enter the throes of wedding season next weekend.  I’m doing my best to golf as much as possible, take bubble baths during the day, and not spend so much time on the computer.  It’s been a nice time to be at home and unwind for a bit.  We’ve been on the road for over four months now which is hard to believe, both in how fast the time has gone and also how long ago April already seems.

On a slightly related note, below are some photos I took while on a drive around some country roads and then along Lake Mendota in Madison:

song of the week: Dead Mans Bones – Pa Pa Power

Lindsay, one of my dearest friends in the whole world, just married her best friend in the Bahamas.  Their wedding celebration was a week of sun, ocean, catamarans, and daiquiris, that culminated with their ceremony at the end of a pier extending over the Atlantic ocean, and an outdoor reception complete with a steel drummer and a 5-piece band.  The setting at Compass Point could not have been more beautiful, with waves crashing against the pier and the sun setting into the horizon.  It was such an honor to witness the love and genuine friendship between Lindsay + Joey, and we could not have been more proud and excited for them.  Congratulations again and thank you for being a part of the Fifty Nifty!

Greetings from Wheaton, IL.

We arrived yesterday after a solid 13 hour drive from Georgia.  Along the way, we created a couple of new games including but limited to: singing home on the range and making up new endings every time on the spot, turning everything we were driving past into a musical (Michelle’s idea), and finally, seeing how fast we could say certain words.  Michelle has a wealth of hidden talents so it was no surprise that she could say the word, “ding” super fast.  See below.

It felt a bit strange leaving the South as we’ve spent so much time bouncing between Texas and Georgia, seeing old friends with regularity, and eating Chick-fil-A whenever we wanted.  It does feel nice to be back in the Midwest though.

This weekend and next are our last two open weekends until October.  In terms of weddings we have 5 in May, 5 in June, 5 in July, 4 in August, 5 in September.  When we announced the Fifty Nifty, we knew 50 weddings was more than a long-shot and as I’ve mentioned before, there was a long while when we only had seven weddings booked for 2012.  Then we booked #16, then #25, and now we’re at 37 with (hopefully) a couple more coming soon.  It truly blows us both away; not to mention all of the outside support and encouragement of She Dances and the goal of this year.
