door county

I grew up going to Door County, Wisconsin with my family every Fall; it’s been years since we last visited and Michelle had never experienced this hidden-gem of the motherland.  So last weekend, after we photographed a lovely wedding in Door County, we met up with my entire family (both of my siblings and their spouses, our six nieces and nephews, my parental unit, and my Aunt and Uncle from Chicago) at a lovely home on the bay.  Some highlights included but were not limited to: catch phrase, spotted cow, skipping stones, home-run derby, cherry pie, a fish boil, bonfires, smores, my Mom’s special non-bake cookies, putt-putt, a strawberry festival, “whale” attacks on floatation devices, and an entire group viewing of the Bachelorette.  Being together and in such a beautiful location was the perfect way to end an incredibly busy, but awesome June.  We’re now back in Minneapolis for the evening, before heading out to Seattle at dawn.  As our friend Mr. Carter would say, “We gotta keep it movin’.”
